My child was sent by our GP, whom we had been to multiple times over the period of a few weeks, for a rash that was getting worse. Our GP didn't know what else to do, so they recently referred us to the Emergency Department at Lady Cilento Hospital. We were put in an air-conditioned room, with lots of other various sick/infectious kids (crazy who designs these places/waiting areas - shouldn't there be an option to sit out in the fresh air and lessen the risk of being exposed to possible highly contagious conditions?). After 5 hours and not being moved 'up' the list, I decided to leave as I felt I wasn't going to receive any care, and if we did it was probably not experienced in this field like I had hoped for. God help the Lady Cilento Hospital if this turns out to be something worse.... the media would have a field day with something like this! They were happy for us to walk away, unseen.....
