(as a parent/guardian),

Love the new hospital, but first time in Emergency. My child was seen & when asked to take bottom clothing off there was no privacy, no curtain to pull shut. Everyone in ED could see you in the room. I asked for a sheet for my child (I held it up) to have some privacy. My child has a right to this no matter what age. Disappointed that I had to ask for a sheet for my child to have their privacy.

Thank you for posting your feedback about PCH, I am delighted that you love our new hospital. You are absolutely correct that all children are entitled to privacy and I’m so sorry that you had to hold a sheet up to protect your child’s privacy in our Emergency Department. All our patient bays in Emergency either have privacy curtains, or electrochromatic doors to provide privacy by making the glass opaque. The switches for the electrochromatic doors are on the wall near the entrance of the room. Our staff should have provided you with this information and I will pass your comments on to the team to ensure that other families are made aware of this.
