"Refused entry due to my criminal history"

About: Lives Lived Well - Longreach

(as other),

I am at rock bottom, wanted to get well and myself and anyone I speak with find that my criminal history should not have prevented me from being accepted into rehab.

I was previously engaged locally with Lives Lived Well and got nothing out of the sessions, felt like I was talking to someone who was in a hurry to wind up the conversation all the time.

I was alcohol free for approximately two weeks so that I could go to rehab, did a detox in the hospital and then submitted my application to go to rehab and was fused, I believe due to my criminal history.

Hello sambatp95

Thank you for your feedback about your experience of engaging with Lives Lived Well.

I am sorry that things have not worked out for you as you had hoped given all the effort you put in to preparing for rehab. I can understand the sense of frustration you feel and also recognise that we may have inadvertently contributed to this.

In complex matters things sometimes don’t work as smoothly as we would like. It is important we understand your experience. To do this we would need you to talk to us about the details of your situation with a view to look at what happened and what options are available to you. Your story may also help us to redesign better processes and a more therapeutic service for people seeking help from Lives Lived Well.

If you would like to contact us please phone 1300 727 957 and ask to speak to Julie Fox, Group Manager Clinical Services Queensland. If Julie is not available immediately leave your details and she will get back to you as soon as she can.

Warm regards

Gerard
