About: Headspace Southport Headspace Southport Southport 4215
I have been coming to Headspace Southport for a year now, and I was having lunch at a vegetarian cafe next door some weeks ago and overheard two ladies (I think they work for Headspace as one had a lanyard) talking about a young person who had become psychotic and needed to go to the ward and how it all happened. I felt uncomfortable listening to all of this patient's private stuff and started to worry that my own counselor might talk about me in public as well. Staff don't normally sit at cafes talking about patients, do they?

Thank you for taking the time to tell your story and raise the concern you have. Your feedback is very much appreciated. I want to make it clear that discussing patient/client matters in cafes is not a normal practice for LLW staff.
I have spoken to the Manager of headspace Southport, Philip Williams, and this is his response:
"Thank you for your feedback. I would like to assure you that as a service we take the responsibility to keep people’s information confidential, seriously. Your experience isn’t part of our normal practice. If you have any further concerns or would like to provide any further feedback I am happy to contact you. I can be reached on 07 5509 5900 – thank you Philip Williams, Manager headspace Southport."
If you would like to contact Philip please call the number he has given and leave a message for him so he can get back to you.
I wish you all the best with your continued engagement with headspace staff.
