"Emergency Department visit"

About: Joondalup Health Campus / Emergency Department Perth Children's Hospital

(as a carer),

I attended Joondalup Health Campus emergency department late at night with my toddler. After being seen by the ED doctors at about 2am I was given a referral to Perth Children's Hospital. At both hospitals it was really lovely how kind and attentive the staff were. Although the waiting times were quite long, that didn't bother me as when I was eventually  seen the staff  really took the time to listen to me and all of my concerns -  even at Joondalup where the ED was incredibly busy. I was never rushed and felt respected at all times. Thank you to all the hard working staff, I really appreciate everything you did for us.

Dear asdfg

Thank you for taking the time to provide your positive feedback regarding your recent presentation to Joondalup Health Campus Emergency Department with your child.

We are proud of all our ED staff and their continuing commitment to ensure that they provide respectful, compassionate and quality care.

It is disappointing to read of the wait time you experienced for which we apologise. As you mention the ED was incredibly busy during your visit. Even noting how busy the ED was, we are pleased that you felt you were given time to express your concerns and felt listened to. Thank you for letting us know that you were also treated with kindness by all our staff members.

We will ensure that all our staff are given your feedback which we know will be much appreciated by each and every one of them.

We hope that your child is now feeling much better and that you all enjoy the upcoming festive season.

Best wishes

Dr Simon Wood
