As a cancer patient undergoing chemotherapy, I had been told not to delay should a high temperature occur. So when I developed a temp of 38° with stomach cramps, I reluctantly attended Box Hill Emergency late in the evening. I was very reluctant to go, especially at this busy time of year and although I am actually a senior manager in health, I was worried about what would happen.
I shouldn't have worried though, as I was bowled over by the kindness and respect I was shown by all team members, especially Nurse Jaz who amazingly got a drip into my very hard to cannulate arm on the first try, and the two doctors Libby and Matt who looked after me so rapidly and efficiently.
Also Nurse Ben in Short Stay unit was just lovely.
It makes me proud to work in support of such an amazing clinical team. Thank you so much for all your help in quickly diagnosing my problem, and looking after me so well.
"Caring and efficient service"
