"Iron Infusion"

About: Kerang Hospital

(as the patient),

I went to the Kerang Hospital today for an iron infusion. When I inquired at the front the friendly, kind receptionist took me right to the oncology nurse, Cindy, who could not have been kinder and more friendly. I was put into a large comfortable chair and she was an expert at setting it up and explaining all about it, and even gave me coffee & scone with cream! I have been a patient at the hospital over the last 18 yrs and have always had excellent care from all the staff. I’ve always noticed how they have all cleaned their hands before & after attending a patient. The new hospital is a dream and I would say if the government offered higher wages to doctors we might get them coming to the country.

Dear giraffepx66,

Thank you for taking the time to write your story about having an iron infusion. Often these are done on the Acute ward, however oncology staff were helping out the Acute ward on this day. I am so pleased that you found the chair comfortable, and that the procedure was explained to you, and you have made my day by observing that hand hygiene is a big part of the care the staff provide at our hospital.

Again, thank you for your story.

Kind Regards

Chloe
