"My Father's Care"

About: Acacia Living Group, Menora Gardens Aged Care

(as a relative),

From initial enquiries to placement, we were happy with the facility, as was our father who initially asked if he would be able to come to this facility when we could no longer look after him due to declining health. My father was very very happy during his time there (6 months went in with a terminal illness). The food is more than adequate. 3 cooked meals a day (includes soup, meal and dessert) if you want, plus morning & afternoon tea and supper. Plenty of activities such as bingo, quiz's, physio, outings on the bus, reading, crafts, men's & women's groups and special even days were celebrated with big mornings tea's - ie: Australia day, Anzac Day etc. Staff were very caring and loving towards our father and us. Very approachable if we wanted to bring matters to their attention that may be addressed a little better. There will always be things that aren't perfect but staff shortages and sometimes language barriers were the reason for this. From high care to palliative care, this was definitely a positive choice for our father.
