"Receptionist"

About: Wonthaggi Hospital

(as a relative),

Last week I spent a bit of time sitting on the couch in your reception area waiting for a relative in surgery. Whilst doing so I got to observe your receptionist (Val) at work. I have worked in quite a few companies and I have to say, she ranks up there with the best. Her friendly, helpful disposition without being gushy, a smile for people walking past, her friendly phone manner is professional and helpful. She also asked me if I was okay whilst I was sitting there. Val is an asset to your hospital. Can I please snaffle her away from you?

Dear Quiet observer,

Sitting in reception areas is a fascinating past time - you see the best and worst - I am so thrilled that you were witness to the best in our receptionist - one of the most important jobs in the place. Thank you for taking the time to send such wonderful feedback about Val - I know she will be really chuffed, and we agree completely that she is one of the best! Providing the right response at the front door in a caring way is critical in a service like ours, and Val is a great role model. Of course, we would never stand in the way of a staff members career development... but I'm hoping you will have seen that she is far too valuable to our community for you to snaffle her away:)

All the best,

Kind Regards,

Jan.
