"Lack of timely response"

About: Sir Charles Gairdner Hospital

(as the patient),

I have a middle cerebral aneurysm. My doctor referred me for an MRI in April 2018. I haven't heard anything so I followed up and was told Sir Charles Gairdner Hospital had me tentatively booked for Oct 2019. My aneurysm is supposed to be checked every 2 years, but it would appear only people with cash available get timely medical treatment in Australia. Why do we pay for medicare?

Dear Aussie Veteran

Thank you for telling us of your concerns regarding your MRI appointment. I am very sorry that the appointment timeframe that you have been given has left you feeling concerned and frustrated.

Without knowing your specific details it is difficult for me to assist in this situation. I would like you to contact the SCGH Patient Liaison Service on 6457 2867 so that we can obtain your details and investigate more fully.

Once again, my apologies and I do hope that you will contact us so that we can assist further.

Kind regards

Janet Zagari
