Recently my wife developed very severe pain in her back and extending to the front. By 10 am she was very shaky, nauseous and feeling very weak. She is an exceptionally fit and normally very healthy older person. Being a healthcare worker myself, I decided we should go to Emergency at Prince of Wales Randwick. From the moment we got there the speed with which she was dealt with and the overall management and care was absolutely amazing. Many tests were required such as heart assessment, blood tests CT scans etc.

Fortunately all proved to be negative and it was decided possibly a gallbladder attack.

Even though she was still in pain when we left we felt reassured that there was nothing major of concern. Unfortunately they were unable to do an ultrasound of the gallbladder in emergency, which we understood and were given a referral to have it done at a radiology place which has since been done. I gave her good pain management to get her through the night, but as we said were relieved to know there was no major issue

I would like to commend all the nursing staff, the ward bearers taking her for various tests both for their efficiency and lovely attitude

I'm not sure if this is ethical but in particular I would like to thank the registrar, Dr Marco for his management, concern and explanations to my wife giving her reassurance the whole time she was struggling with the pain
