"Amazing community health staff"

About: Kununurra Community Health Service Mandurah Child Health Clinic, Peel Child Development Service

(as a parent/guardian),

Our family was on holiday at the time of our 12 month old's needles being due. We received a phone call from the Kununurra Community Health staff to advise us that we were overdue and encouraging us to seek an appointment while we were away as there was a measles case on the east coast (where we were heading). We rang the immunisations clinic at Mandurah Community Health and on explaining our situation were offered an appointment that very afternoon. We are so impressed with the caring and responsive approach offered by the staff at both Community Health branches, they are to be commended for their wonderful service! Thanks to all involved we could travel with peace of mind and a protected toddler. We are very appreciative.

Dear Mojo Mumma

Thank you so much for sharing your experience about the team at Mandurah Community Health. Childhood vaccinations are tremendously important, and I am very pleased that our team in Mandurah, in collaboration with the team in Kununurra, were able to facilitate your child’s scheduled immunisation while you were in Perth.

Your feedback will be passed on to the staff in Mandurah and I have shared your comments with the Co-Directors of Child and Adolescent Health Service (CAHS) Community Health, as well as Dr Aresh Anwar, the Chief Executive of CAHS. Within CAHS, two of the key values we strive to exemplify are collaboration and excellence, and we are delighted that your experience with our health service reflected these values. We are also committed to recognising our outstanding staff; should you like to consider nominating the team for a staff excellence award, please contact CAHS.comms@health.wa.gov.au.

Thank you again for taking the time to bring this positive experience to our attention, and please accept my best wishes for your child.

Kind regards

Dr Victor Cheng

Hi Mojo Mumma,

Sorry for the very late reply. It is so important that the immunisation of your child is kept up to date. I am heartened to hear that the staff at Kununurra Community Health were diligent in providing the service and in fact supported you to ensure your child's immunisation status was kept up to date.

The fact that the whole of WACHS was able to ensure you had access to the appropriate services across WA speaks highly of the team. Such basic, but important, services can be missed, thank you for your comments, I will let the staff at Kununurra know

Doug
