"Dental extraction injection."

About: Dental Services (Bass Coast Health)

(as the patient),

I don't want to get anyone into trouble and apologise if I am wrong. I recently had a dental extraction and lost my voice for 3 days (still not ok). I have never lost my voice before (whispering). The only thing I can think of was the dental assistant didn't rinse my mouth out with water after the injections because they left a very strong taste in my mouth each time.

I am a fairly strong man, but if this happened to a different patient, I feel the outcome could be worse.

Dear Martian,

Goodness! What an awful thing to have happen. We do many extractions every day in multiple patients and it is very unusual to lose your voice due to dental treatment or due to local anaesthesia. We would very much appreciate chatting to you (of course when you are able) so that we can look into this further. You could ring my mobile (0472846355) however if your voice is still a problem, feel free to text me your details, or email me at jan.child@basscoasthealth.org.au. We appreciate you giving us some feedback and just so you know, no-one gets into trouble when we receive feedback - we use the feedback to learn. Look forward to chatting in the most convenient way possible for you.

Kind Regards,

Jan.
