I attended Sutherland Hospital's emergency department with my toddler late one afternoon recently after they'd had an accident at home. We were triaged and sent through to the paediatric area very quickly. I noticed that there were a lot of people coming through ED, however there was not a lot of people in the waiting area. The triage nurse said it had been a very busy day, especially with kids.

I was worried that we might be there for quite a while as it was busy, however the nursing and medical staff attended to us promptly and professionally. My toddler was quite nervous and upset, but they were so kind and caring, and took the time to speak to my toddler and make them comfortable.

I was so appreciative of the fantastic service we received, which was so reassuring, not just for me, but for my child also. Thank you!

Dear Relieved Mum

Thank you for taking the time to write about your recent visit to the ED at The Sutherland Hospital. Coming to hospital can be quite a daunting experience for our youngest of patients and it can be just as overwhelming for parents who often feel quite helpless in these situations.

I was so pleased to read your feedback about the consideration shown to your little one by our ED staff. I am very proud of our staff and their commitment to providing excellent care to all our patients, and it is particularly heart warming to hear of your families story.

I am sure that this experience will go along way in reassuring your child that going to hospital is not so scary after all. I hope that your child has had a speedy recovery and thank you again for your feedback.
