Asked by a neurologist to stay in a ward at Royal Perth Hospital to monitor my husband overnight, while they carried out essential EEG (electroencephalogram) testing over 24hrs. After waiting from 11:30 am for the promised recliner or cot to sleep on to arrive, only to be told at 11 pm it wasn't going to happen - although it was asked for by numerous nurses throughout the day and evening. I was given a blanket and a pillow and thinking that it was vital I stay, I slept on the floor. The cold hard floor. I suppose if I was 15 years younger and didn't have my own health concerns this would be almost bearable. Unfortunately, I couldn't do it and left in an emotional state after struggling to get comfortable for 4 hours. Seriously. In my opinion, this was a little past an oversight, and unfortunately for me, our pet dog has more bedding at night than I did. My husband was on his own, against doctor's orders. I am so upset.
"Appalled! I am so upset!"
