Just a big thank you to Marnie and the doctor of the Emergency Department in Busselton when I went in with my baby one night recently. My baby was inconsolable and Marnie just took my baby and tried to settle them down to give me a break. The doctor and Marnie both explained everything in plain English and made me feel a lot better by reassuring me - before sending us up to Bunbury Hospital for further tests. The doctor also rang Bunbury Hospital the following morning to see how we were doing.

Thank you for taking the time to post experience on Patient Opinion. What a great story! We are very lucky to have such an engaged medical and nursing team in the department at Busselton Hospital. We know how important communication is between our team and the patient and this sounds like the perfect example of getting it right. It’s great to hear that those small steps like following up with a phone call after transfer or discharge are appreciated by our patients and families too.
