Recently, I suffered a Heart Attack and consequently spent two separate stints six weeks apart in Angliss, Maroondah and Box Hill Hospitals including two stays in I.C.U., as well as two Ambulance and four Patient Transfer trips.I have had many tests and scans including C.T., X-Ray, Cardiograph, E.C.G. and numerous blood tests. I have been fed, had toiletries supplied and medicated with my only small out of pocket expenses being for a some medications. What a wonderful system we have in this country. When we complain about paying taxes we should appreciate that when urgent health care is needed it is supplied.
After being discharged from Box Hill I was referred to the Cardio Rehab facility at Angliss in Upper Ferntree Gully which I attended for an extended time. All of the Professional Staff ,Reception Staff and Volunteers are dedicated and caring people.
The first hour of the Rehab session in in a gym with a Cardiac Nurse, Physio Nurse Volunteer and others , supervising, guiding and assisting all "clients"with very personalized attention. The second hour is an education class with knowledgeable presenters with well structured lessons and handy reference hand outs. Due to my personal situation I spent constructive times with the Social Worker and the main Cardiac Nurse organised for a volunteer driver to take me to and deliver me home from Rehab twice a week. A really constructive, positive and enjoyable experience as well as a good social morning with like effected others
"I have received fantastic care after a recent Heart Attack -Eastern Health- Melbourne"
