"Excellent, considerate care!"

About: Geraldton Hospital / Emergency Department

(as the patient),

I attended Geraldton Regional Hospital for a particularly uncomfortable and personal issue. The triage nurse whose name I didn't get was lovely, reassured me that a number of women face this issue and explained how others had described it to avoid embarrassment.

Once in emergency, I was allocated an extremely considerate and professional nurse named Jess. Jess ensured that my privacy and comfort was a top priority. She stood by the curtains to ensure no one would enter the area, got me a gown and ensured I was warm enough. In a very busy environment it is these minor detail that can be overlooked and that I thoroughly appreciated!

Dear GeraldtonS,

Thank you for sharing your experience with us on Patient Opinion. It was lovely to read of your positive experience with the team at the Geraldton Hospital Emergency Department. It is so important for us to see our health service users as a person first and foremost before an illness, bed number or the reason they are using our service.

WA Country Health Service strives to provide high quality, compassionate, professional health care and it is very uplifting to know we helped make a stressful experience for yourself a little less so. The team at the Emergency Department do a great job and I will take great pleasure in passing your compliment on with a special mention to Jess.

Patient Opinion allows us an opportunity to strengthen the partnership we have with our service users by allowing patients, families and carers the chance to share their personal stories and it really does keep myself and our organisation closely connected with what matters most to our health service users.

Thank you again for sharing your story, your feedback allows us to recognise our staff for the wonderful work they do each and every day. I hope you are continuing to recover well and wish you all the best for the future.

Kind regards

Michele
