"Traumatic partial finger amputation"

About: Ambulance Victoria Geelong Hospital / Emergency Department

(as the patient),

Rope guillotined my finger while holding kayak in waves at Torquay.

Family were cool, calm and supportive. Strangers helped with blankets and ice.

Victorian Ambulance Service paramedic and ambulance crew were reassuring, efficient and supportive, thanks Matt.

Geelong hospital ED - Libby (thank you so much ... again), Tam and radiographer great.

Nawal was patient and kind and gave explanation of alternatives and formulated plan with family and me - excellent.

Plastics ward, heath wing, Neil (thank you so much…again), night nurses, pain relief, IV administers.

Michael, Nurses Caroline, Mem & Recovery, Tech, Surgeons/Doctors Damon (thank you for your expertise, focus and incredible ring block), Nawal (sorry for your pain and worry) Marty (martus aurilious, fearless gasman! - thank you so much). Sorry those whose names I’ve forgotten. Everyone was kind, courteous, caring and introduced themselves. I remember your faces and manner.

Back to Neil and Tara on the ward and then home.

So far so good. Strictly following doctors and nurses orders.
