We are so happy to welcome our first baby into this world recently. The staff at St George Hospital (SGH) were instrumental in the preparation, delivery and care of our little baby. I hope this feedback finds its way to the staff of the Birth Centre, Delivery Suite and Maternity Ward 1 South.
The staff of SGH treated us with kindness, respect and attention to detail throughout our 3 days in care. Nicole at the delivery suite gave us a room and settled us in with haste when we were working through a long and painful posterior labour, without creating a sense of alarm at any stage. We asked for nothing because our needs were met before we could think to make a request. As Caroline took over during the night we felt cared for through tactful use of humour and a gentle, nurturing attitude.
An extra special mention must go to obstetrician Georgie who maintained the most amazing clarity of care during the delivery phase. By giving clear information and using a comforting tone of voice, we kept our dignity and in an environment that was positive and light even in the most intense of circumstances. We can not speak highly enough of her work on the day.
Jess was the first in line of wonderful midwives who seamlessly picked up where others left off. All of the care in the maternity ward was of the highest quality - comforting, respectful and informed.
We feel lucky - not in the sense of chance, or superstition, but in the sense that our experience has had a substantial impact on us as a family. Our warmest and most heartfelt thanks to the staff of St George Hospital - particularly in the Birth Centre, Delivery Suite and Maternity Ward 1 South.
