"Respite received from Kimberley Aged and Community Services"

About: WACHS Kimberley Aged & Community Services

(as a carer),

My husband went to Perth for treatment and I needed respite accommodation for him in an aged care facility. In Perth I had no support, so I rang the respite staff in Broome, who followed this up for me and rang me back to let me know what respite facilities were available. I am now able to have a couple of weeks respite, while he receives treatments in Perth. I felt so appreciative of their support and knowing that they are only a phone call away to listen to me. The isolation I feel in Perth is made easier by the support I receive from the Broome respite team.

Dear watersr93

I am very pleased that the respite staff were able to respond to your request and that this was helpful. I hope your situation in Perth has become easier and that you are feeling less isolated, it is always difficult being so far from home. If there is any further way the staff can support you please contact us again.

Ruth Crawford,

Manager KACS
