"Looking after patients from Bass Coast Health Wonthaggi Hospital."

About: Wonthaggi Hospital

(as a carer),

Whilst in a big metropolitan Hospital I have had discussions with four patients that had been transferred from Wonthaggi.  One person I spoke to was born at Wonthaggi hospital and she even had her own children at the hospital.  When she got the phone call to transfer back to Wonthaggi she was so happy.  The other two patients were equally happy to go back to Wonthaggi as they felt the staff were really caring.  I spoke to another patient from Wonthaggi.  He told me that he had found the staff he saw go the extra mile and are really caring. It seemed that it is more than just a job the nurses and other staff care about the community.  Out of the people I spoke to 100% expressed satisfaction with the care provided.

Dear taurusrh44,

Wow - what wonderful feedback! And, I agree! I have worked in a lot of health services and I truly believe that what sets us apart from others, is the BCH team of staff and volunteers. We work in a pretty tired environment (that is about to become much better!), and we don't have all the bells and whistles that other places have - but our staff are part of the local community and so they know we will be looking after their own loved ones, or their neighbours, and friends of friends. I think it means they go about their work truly caring about the person in front of them because they are part of their community - I know our staff read these posts and will be really chuffed - thank you for taking the time to provide your feedback.

Kind Regards,

Jan.
