Hard if not impossible, to get the care and help we need.
I feel invisible, without a voice, worthless, because of the "labelling". I feel no one believes me and that I'm being dismissed and told my word doesn't matter because it's typical of people with mental illness. No one wants to be their problem and I'm being passed on only to find another closed door.
You find yourself on a merry-go-round. Eventually, you get so dizzy, so exhausted, rejected that you crash and break. Then you fall through the cracks of the system and you give up. You lost all faith, trust and hope! When you reach this point life doesn't matter anymore.
And somehow I'm being told it's my fault, that I alone am responsible for my health and well being!
I wish I had the authority to prescribe myself the meds and treatment I need, to refer myself to specialists and my word will count.
I am in totally dissolution and have no wish to live.
I was asked to give feedback after a visit with an OT from Star health. Here it is!
"How the system is treating people suffering from mental illnesses"
