"Maternity care"

About: Sale Hospital / Emergency Department Sale Hospital / Women's and Children's

(as the patient),

I would like to say thank you to the staff in the Medical Imaging, Emergency and Women’s & Children’s ward for the compassionate, professional and timely services they provided to me during my pregnancy and the birth of my baby recently.

I have had a number of miscarriages so am incredibly grateful to the medical imaging staff for their understanding when I booked in for scans. At the last scan I had before the birth the technician was lovely and told me that she was very happy for me as she had in the past had to give me bad news. I thought that this was so caring as it showed that I was not just a patient.

I had a couple of hiccups through the pregnancy that resulted in me attending the Emergency Department, again all the staff that I dealt with were understanding and helpful even when they were incredibly busy.

Dr Sarkar and the midwives were amazing. Special thanks to Kim, Bekki and Jo. I felt supported and comfortable with them and felt that they respected my wishes and provided exceptional care. I was able to have a positive birth experience and my baby was born healthy.

As a Nurse Unit Manager of the Women’s and Children's Unit feedback is valued and important to our team as we strive to provide excellence in care. I have taken the opportunity to extend your special thanks to Dr Saba Lorraine and Caitlin and will take pleasure in ensuring thanks are extended the rest of our team.

Please feel free to contact me at any time if there is anything else you would like to discuss: wac.num@cghs.com.au
