Recently we brought our very sick child into Kununurra Hospital, worried that they were not getting any better despite following doctors orders. On examination and X-Ray by a very thorough doctor, it was found our child not only had tonsillitis but pneumonia as well. They were given a bed and many nurses and doctors cared for them day and night. Our child was treated as a human being and not just a number as is often found in major cities. The level of care afforded to our child and us parents was really nice and the staff kept us in the loop with everything that was going on and what procedures they were following to bring our child up to good health. A blood test confirmed their suspicions of glandular fever too, so the poor child really was ill. After 24 hours of care, our child's breathing had improved dramatically and after 48 hours they were off the drip and received the rest of the antibiotics via injection.
At all times the nurses were so caring and good to our child. We never worried about them not getting better. I want to thank the staff, from the cleaners, cooks (who also looked after us so well), to all the nurses and doctors. When our child was brought into this world at Kununurra Hospital we were so grateful for their care and consideration. They were just as wonderful to us again. Thanks can never be enough to show how much we appreciate what they have all done for our child. I hope we can someday help them all in return.
