Following a workplace injury to my wrist, I attended Armadale Hospital for scans and initial treatment. Unfortunately, the scans taken by Armadale Hospital were of poor quality and my injury was misdiagnosed. As a result of this failure, I received treatment that did not help me to recover and I have had a great deal more time off work than would have been the case with an accurate diagnosis. It has now been over 6 months since this happened and I have finally obtained an accurate diagnosis of my injury that explains the pain and impact on my functional capacity.
I am upset and angry that Armadale Hospital has caused harm to me by providing an inaccurate diagnosis. If treating medical professionals are unsure about a diagnosis, they should be encouraged to say so and to seek help, not to give inaccurate information to patients who rely on them.
In my experience, I would avoid Armadale Hospital for scans and treatment, even if I have to travel a bit further to go somewhere else. I think it's worth it in the long run.
