I felt very well cared for by the doctors and nursing staff and there was a lovely atmosphere on the particular ward, 2 East, where I was a patient, and am sure that would apply to the other wards in the hospital.
However, I did observe that that the nursing staff, in particular, had to cope with a degree of broken equipment. Because the General Ward was full, for a short period of time I was placed in a room with four broken beds, and a non functioning light above the bed. I needed to have an X-ray on a lower floor and the only wheelchair available was a very large one. There were three other normal size wheel chairs but they were all in need of repair.
As I mentioned previously, the nursing staff were incredibly kind and always helpful but I felt that they were hindered somewhat by the lack of repair to some of the hospital equipment.
