"Professional and dedicated team setting the standard for aged care"

It is with pleasure that I am writing this in support of the Kalyra Aged Care Facility at Belair who I understand have been nominated for a Community Achievement Award.

I am the legal guardian for my intellectually disabled relative who has been receiving residential care at Kalyra for the past five years. Some years ago I also supported my relative's sibling who entered care at Kalyra but who has sadly passed away. 

Being responsible for their well being, I felt much anxiety relating to their assimilation into the aged residential care area, but that concern evaporated when the door opened at Kalyra.

From the first day it was very obvious that this organization practiced aged care and client respect at the highest level. From management through to carers, support and maintenance staff, the overall feeling has been one of close family.

Should there be a need for medical intervention, no matter how trivial, consultation has been immediate and access with senior management has also been welcomed.

It is always a pleasure to walk through the front door at Belair as the feeling is one of walking into a family home with lots of chats and friendly banter with staff. The retention rate also suggests that staff feel at home in their work environment as well. 

As my relative's guardian, I could not be happier than I am, with all facets of Kalyra Aged Care.

With my 30 years' of involvement in supportive care, I feel qualified to say that the Kalyra Aged Care Facility Belair and its professional and dedicated team have set a standard that is beyond reproach within the aged care industry.
