Mum took about 2 weeks to settle in to Southhaven. The first day she was not happy with me at all because she was in a double room for respite, which is all they had at the time. She was given a single room that had just become available that day.
She loved the food, the activities, & the care from especially the head of care, Yvonne & most of the nurses. Also Natalie from Aged Care Decisions was great, ringing to see how everything went. Unfortunately, mum passed away a few weeks ago so was only in the aged care for a few months.
If only she had agreed to going there sooner. I feel she was lonely at home & found it very hard to stay in your own home and cope with the everyday tasks. l, too, was very happy with Southhaven & miss going over there to visit my mother.
