"Our child not being offered any help"

About: Prince of Wales Hospital

(as a parent/guardian),

We had a call saying our child had been admitted due to threatening self-harm. Our child was involved in an incident involving youths threatening them and was arrested due to breaking an AVO. The doctor advised us that our child had signs of a personality disorder and would speak to their superior as they wanted to get our child admitted to get the help our child needs.

We received a call saying the doctor's superior did not believe coming in as an inpatient would be the best thing or place for our child! So they turned a teenager away who has suicidal thoughts and a personality disorder! Great, where can our child and us go from there if a hospital is not willing to help or even offer any signposting? I feel there are so many problems within the mental health system!
