"Kind and respectful care"

About: Box Hill Hospital / Emergency Department

(as a carer),

My parent was admitted to Box Hill Hospital with a complex case including internal bleeding and dementia.

I was overwhelmingly impressed by a staff member, (I believe her name was Cathy), in Ward 7.2, who provided such excellence in personal care.

She was so kind and respectful of my parent and did so with great humility that made a challenging time less traumatic. She clearly put my parent's personal needs first.

Thank you to the whole team on Ward 7.2.

I would also like to thank Bec who supported me as a carer. She kept me informed and took time to ensure I could continue to support my parent within and beyond the hospital.

Dear hydrusmj79,

Thank you so much for taking the time to share your experience with yours and your parent's experience when they were an inpatient on ward 7.2 at Box Hill Hospital.

It will give me great pleasure to share your comments with Cathy, her manager and the whole team on 7.2 so they are aware of the impact they had on your experience. I am really proud that the Eastern Health values of Patients First, Kindness, Respect, Excellence, Agility, and Humility were clearly evident and the team did such a great job.

I hope your parent has returned home and is on the road to their best of health.

With kind regards and best wishes.

David
