We had delivery of our first borns in St. George Public Hospital and I can't thank the midwives enough. We were there for almost a week and had a good number of midwives,so I can't remember everyone's names - but Claire stands out. She is the most helpful and nicest person ever. She understood our confusion and paranoia as first time parents and patiently answered all our questions and helped us out every way she could. All other midwives were also really nice and helpful and we are eternally grateful for all their help and support.
We had issue with only a student midwife. In my opinion, they had absolutely no soft skills to deal with patients and appears clearly annoyed all the time. Since maternity ward sees lot of new parents, it requires someone who has lot of patience and helpful attitude. At one stage, this midwife left the express feeding halfway since there was a shift change happening, leaving our two day old baby hungry for over 30 minutes. I really hope St. George Hospital administration provide proper training to this student midwife since I believe they are not suitable to be a midwife with that attitude.
