Recently, I came to the Bridgetown Hospital with a broken wrist. I was seen to almost immediately and we were fortunate enough that the nurse who does the X-rays was still at the hospital. Dr Sing was in attendance, as was Julia the critical care nurse. I would just like to put it on record that I was grateful for the exceptional care I was given.
I had a compression fracture of my right wrist and a second doctor/anaesthetist Dr Johnathan was called to assist. We were from Perth and as we were on a motorbike had no way of returning that night. Julia assisted us beyond and above her call of duty to find us a welcoming BnB. Once my arm was set and cast we left the hospital with a letter for further care at our local hospital. On my arrival there and a follow up X-ray the orthopaedic surgeon on call said that the fracture was stable and well-cast and could be left to heal or I could choose to opt for a plate, which is what I did.
Again, I would like to just say a big thank you to all involved and to make people aware that great help is available in these smaller country towns.
