A feel-good story about Kalgoorlie Health Campus/Hospital. Recently I had a simple operation on my fingers. I chose not to have a general anaesthetic (GA). I had a complete nerve block instead, this was accompanied by a local block in my knuckles. Unfortunately this didn’t work and I ended up having a GA but all was good. The op went fine and I went home that night with a dead arm. Still completely normal, though when I woke up the next morning there was no change. So I headed back to ED for answers, which I got really quickly, and a flight on the RFD to another hospital. My experience there wasn’t very positive (read story here).
I would just like to point out my care in Kalgoorlie Hospital was 100 percent. Their diagnosis was correct and their treatment was above and beyond to the fact one of their surgeons rang me from overseas to check on me. My care was 100 and I couldn’t fault a single person, doctor, nurse or pca. Thanks to everyone, I’m well on the way to recovery.
