"Disabled parking"

About: Sutherland Hospital

(as the patient),

I attend the Pulmonary Rehab gym at Sutherland hospital as I have severe COPD. I have a disabled parking pass as walking any distance is impossible for me. The disabled spots closest to the pulmonary rehab gym have been changed this week to only allow 30 minutes parking. What would normally take me 5 minutes to get to the gym I now have to park in the multi level car park and walk at least 15 minutes and arrive breathless and exhausted before my gym session even starts.

I believe this affects all users of the gym who have cardiac and lung issues. We need this parking made available to us for the length of time we need to utilise the gym. Maybe a 2 hour parking limit would be reasonable. The current 30 minute parking limit is not long enough to even attend any appointments at the hospital.

Dear Copdhealth,

SESLHD is awaiting Transport NSW clarification, however, at TSH, Mobility Parking permit users are allowed 4 times the time posted on disabled parking signage.

For example, 30 minutes disabled parking signage permits up to 2 hours of parking for Mobility Parking permit Holders.

Yours sincerely
