"Prince of Wales Hospital, Rehab Ward doctors, nurses, OTs and physios"

About: Prince of Wales Hospital / PB1W - General Rehabilitation Unit

(as a relative),

My dad suffered a severe stroke in December 2024. His right side was totally paralysed: he could not lift a finger, feel his arm or leg, he could not even see from his right eye. After two months in the Acute Stroke Ward (the stuff there were also exceptional, but this is another story) my dad (86 years of age) was lucky to be transferred into the Rehabilitation Ward of the Prince of Wales Hospital. I just want to share with the world how great the whole Rehabilitation team is. Their professionalism and dedication to their patients is second to none. Dad is not a very optimistic person, but when he met the enthusiastic, hard-working doctors & nurses, always smiling, energetic physiotherapists and occupational therapists every morning, it became impossible for him not to do his best & he did.

In December last year it was hard to believe that our dad would ever make an independent step or hold anything in his right hand. Well, my sister and I were very fortunate to observe and learn what a team of knowledgeable, determined, passionate specialists could achieve. Our dad was discharged the recently. He can now walk shot distances, manage stairs and can draw a little with his right hand. There is still a long way to full recovery, but the rehabilitation team helped us see what is possible when you believe it is.

I have no words, but 'THANK YOU ❤️'
