"Maternity at Central Gippsland Health"

About: Sale Hospital / Surgery/Theatre Sale Hospital / Women's and Children's

(as the patient),

I recently had a baby at Central Gippsland Health. My husband and I were quite anxious as my birth wasn’t going to plan and I required interventions and ended up needing an emergency caesarean.

The midwifery team, especially Rhys, Abbie and Eva advocated for me and my baby. Although I was not able to achieve much of my birth plan, they still made my birth as relaxed and calm and possible.  The theatre nurses also created a calm environment and provided incredible reassurance. We were in very safe hands, despite the circumstances.

Dr Thanga came to my bedside during my recovery and explained everything that happened and why, she reassured me for my future births and made me feel empowered to a mother. She hugged me and shook my husband's hand.

Dr Thanga has an excellent bedside manner and is a very caring professional. Over all we are very happy with the care that we received during my pregnancy, from the WHIMs clinic, to birth and my follow up appointments. Holly, Elvie and Renae provided wonderful breastfeeding advice and support, their expertise is invaluable.
