At Collie Hospital last week in the evening about 5pm my first visit as a patient into emergency with a severe chest pain.
Mostly when I move/ cough/yawn the pain is 10/10, however sitting still it is a noticeable 1/10.
The triage , by Margaret. was very quick and after a couple of minutes doing the necessary computer input and signing a couple forms was in a bed being hooked up to ecg/ bp etc then Doctor Peter appeared to assess me.
Asking all the routine questions and discount ing any heart related issues, focussed on the pain. After a period of time allowing the pain killer to kick in they arranged the paperwork for tests a few days later.
Left Emergency about 7:30.
The quickest , efficient and most welcoming environment of any hospital I have ever been in.
Come 3 days later back at the hospital and the process for getting the blood sample and X-ray was just as smooth and efficient as the experience previous visit - I was back in the office within 45 mins.
I feel so much better about living in Collie knowing that a first rate health service is available if needed.
