"Care from the MGP and ward 5 at KEMH"

About: King Edward Memorial Hospital / Maternity

(as the patient),

I was part of the MGP at King Edward Memorial Hospital for the birth of my first child. My midwives Bri and Chiara provided excellent care throughout my pregnancy, delivery, and post-natal care period.

I felt safe, supported, confident in my care and well-informed throughout the whole experience, and I cannot thank Bri and Chiara enough for the safe delivery of our baby boy.

Despite some complications post-birth, we were visited on the ward and at home until day 10 post delivery, and were provided with ongoing education which was effective and very reassuring.

Based on my experience, I would highly recommend this service. We feel very fortunate to have had the opportunity.

Bri and Chiara thank you for your excellent care, communication and compassion throughout. We will always be grateful to you both.

I had an uncomplicated natural birth on the labour suite at KEMH and was then admitted to Ward 5 for post-natal care. I laboured during the first night, and stayed a second night for support with breastfeeding and pain management as recommended by the midwives on the ward.

Unfortunately I was re-admitted back to KEMH for 2 days post-birth, however received excellent care once again on ward 5.

I wanted to thank each staff member involved in my care. You made me feel safe, supported and well informed throughout my stays on ward 5. Thank you to each and every one of you.

Dear capricornuscb76

Congratulations on the birth of your first child and thank you so much for your kind words of appreciation for Bri and Chia from the Midwifery Group Practice (MGP). I am sure they will be delighted to hear how safe, supported and confident they made you feel.

I’m sorry to hear not everything went as smoothly as you might have wished for, but it is heart-warming to hear how effective the additional care you received on Ward 5 was in making you feel so well informed and cared for.

We take a great deal of pride in the care delivered by all of our staff from the midwives to the clerks and doctors. It will give me a great deal of pleasure to pass on your thoughts to the whole of the team.

Thanks again for this lovely feedback. Wishing you and your family all the very best.

Kind regards

Barbara Lourey
