I had a 5 day admission at the Macquarie ward recently for a chronic pain treatment. I’ve experienced a lot of medical neglect and trauma so was a bit worried about how the admission would impact me. The care and kindness of the nursing staff made this the most positive medical treatment I’ve ever experienced. I really want to specifically thank the nurses Eden and Sunny for their outstanding care and respect during my stay. It’s clear that they both hold unconditional positive regard for their patients which I believe makes a huge difference to patient treatment. Thank you for making this a positive experience

It's very good to hear that you received such good quality care during your hospital stay and that your needs were met during this time. I'm sorry to hear of your previous background of medical neglect and trauma and can only imagine how this must have caused you distress in the past and no doubt contributed to your worry regarding your admission to hospital for treatment. The Macquarie Ward team are very experienced in caring for women with chronic pain and understand the importance for women to feel safe, secure and supported when in hospital, which can be a stressful time some people.

The Macquarie Ward team works really hard to provide the best possible compassionate, respectful person-centred care, and we believe all women deserve this excellent standard of care.
