"True compassion and humanity"

About: Prince of Wales Hospital / POWH Inpatient Palliative Care (Prince of Wales Hospital)

(as a relative),

On Sunday evening, 20th of April 2025, our dear family member, Richard, passed away peacefully at the Prince of Wales Hospital, in the Haematology and Oncology Ward.

Throughout Richard's stay, the care and compassion shown by the entire medical team were extraordinary. The nurses, doctors, and support staff consistently demonstrated professionalism, empathy, and sensitivity, not only towards Richard but also towards our family during such a difficult time.

Despite the emotional challenges, the team created a space where dignity, respect, and comfort were prioritised. Every effort was made to ensure Richard was comfortable, and we were kept informed with kindness and clarity about his condition and care plan.

I would like to express my deepest gratitude to the staff at the Haematology and Oncology Ward. Their dedication made an incredible difference to Richard's final days, and their support gave us strength when we needed it most.

Thank you for providing not just medical care, but true compassion and humanity.
