I’m a young adult, I have surgically diagnosed Endometriosis. I have been up to Albany hospital 3 times recently including one overnight admission due to what is believed as a flare up. Everytime I have been to hospital in Albany due to my condition I have been told there is nothing they can do and proscribed opieds.
Even after an ultrasound, which I believe doctors should know, Endometriosis doesn’t show in ultrasound. That is as far as investigating goes, I feel they're constantly doubting you on your own pain and feelings!
My first visit this flare up I had an urgent referral sent to gyno, I now have found out some weeks later it hasn’t been even triaged or seen, my symptoms have been agony (lost 10kg in a month), cannot eat, fainting, I can feel a lump in my stomach and the pain has left me in bed for days. But everytime ‘there is nothing we can do’ is said to me I am reminded of how horrible woman are understood how un heard I feel.
