"Waiting for stent operation and food variety"

About: Fiona Stanley Hospital

(as the patient),

I'm 92. I've been waiting to have the legs seen to. I have three stents in each leg. They would only do one leg because of my age. To me, it was nothing. I was awake all the time—it took two and a half hours.

I'm still waiting for the left leg to be done. I waited two years, and I got the okay to do the right leg. And I thought they did the right leg. It's a funny feeling—you feel the blood coming back into your leg. The thing is, I'm waiting for the left leg to be done.

When I was in hospital, all I got was an egg sandwich, and that was for my dinner in the evening. I asked where my dinner was in the evening, and that’s all I got. And they reckon that that is enough.

And then the following day, I would be going home sometime—and you know, the breakfast was an egg sandwich again. And that’s all there was after that.

More recently, we were supposed to have had an appointment with the hospital—Fiona Stanley Hospital. It was for 2:20. We were there at 2:10, and we stayed there till 2:30. And no one ever came to talk to us via the video. We stayed till 3 p.m., but we had another appointment and had to get home. But nothing happened. No one phoned us. I have a letter saying that it was an appointment, and no one ever came on the telly.

I just want to know what the h*** they’re seemingly playing at. And if they call this a hospital, I want something done about it. And I want it put in the newspaper just to let them know that I think they’re useless.

The ambulance that takes me back and forwards decided I have to pay for them. I get a letter for $6,000. And this is what I’ve really had enough of.

And before they took me home—what did they give me? An egg sandwich.
