A Nurse Who Saved Me
For 17 years, I’ve lived in Coral Bay, seeking help from the nursing post whenever I needed it. But never—not once—did I ever feel truly seen, truly safe, until I met Christine.
When I seen her in September last year, I was carrying the weight of the world on my shoulders, barely holding myself up. Emotionally, I was drained. I was at my breaking point. But Christine? She saw me. Not just the symptoms, not just the chart—but me. Her calm presence and deep understanding, shaped in part by her lived experience, gave her this quiet superpower: she just got me. No judgment. No rush. Just genuine, human care and that’s enough. I got turned away and worse but never by Christine.
She saved my life.
I don’t say that lightly. In a place like Coral Bay, where healthcare is often stretched thin, it can be hard to feel heard. Harder still to feel safe opening up. But with Christine, I wanted to come back. I trusted her—and that’s a rare and sacred thing.
Not every experience at the Coral Bay nursing post has been like that. But Christine? Christine has been the light in all of that darkness. She is the nurse I never knew I needed—the one who changed everything. She treats people with dignity, listens with her heart, and shows up for her community every single day. She is an advocate. A comfort. A hero.
And she deserves to be recognized as such.
"A local nurse that quite literally saved my life."
