I can’t speak highly enough of all the staff on the CAU ward at The Prince of Wales Hospital during my period of hospitalisation late last month - whilst I was suffering from quite a severe case of Pneumonia.
Three nurses deserve a special call out – 2 Irish girls (Cara and ?) who cared for me through some very tough days and Emma who cared for me during my worst 2 nights. I felt absolutely wretched with Pneumonia (the worst i've felt in 50 years), and their kindness, support and sense of humour went an incredibly long way in some dark moments. I feel quite emotional thinking about it actually. Please look after our special nurses - they truly make a difference to lives.
The doctors, of course, were also wonderful and worked relentlessly to get to the bottom of what was going on with me and I’m extremely grateful to them.
The only thing that I can think of (other than the food) that could be improved is the communication between the doctors and the nursing team - post their visit in the morning. There were a couple of instances where actions confirmed by the doc in the 10am visit wasn’t communicated to the nurses and needed me to raise it with them.
