I was induced at 39 weeks in my second pregnancy. I am in my 40s and this was our second IVF baby.
I didn't take part in the Broome Hospital's Midwifrey Group Practise (MGP) as I wanted to work with an Endorsed Midwife - Tracey who I worked with the first time. I knew that on the day I went in to labour I would be supported by the right people who would be an energetic match to how I wanted to be supported.
I ended up being induced, as certain circumstances were out of my hands, and I was happy about this. And just as I hoped I had two amazing midwives support me. Christina and Pippa were amazing. They listened to what I wanted in my birth preferences, were kind, caring, supportive and encouraging. It made the whole 5.5hours of being in labour a good and positive experience. I was so grateful for them being there for me, even though I had no idea who would be there on the day.
I also had a Dr Nadia there to support me and she is actually a good friend of mine. Even though everyone is super keen to have a midwife from the MGP program, I am so happy with the process I followed. Christina and Pippa were gems and I feel everything went really well. Thankyou Broome Hospital for these incredible midwives.
