In my opinion, we saw very poor nursing standard at Myrtleford hospital. On my recent hospital stay at Myrtleford I got food poisoning from the lunch served which was chicken schnitzel. Half an hour after i ate it i was vomiting and this continued for hours into the afternoon.
Also on this day my peritoneal dialysis therapy finished in the morning as per usual and i told the nurse on duty that the bags were ready for disposal.
I was taken by patient transport to Wodonga hospital, my spouse went to Myrtleford hospital three days later to collect my personal items and peritoneal dialysis machine, the reception area staff member found all my goods in a store room and my spouse couldn't believe it but all the medical waste from my dialysis was unemptied and just kept with the dialysis machine on the trolley in the store room for four days the bags hadnt been disposed of correctly just put in a storeroom. I believe this is unacceptable and we hope to never have to ever go into Myrtleford hospital again.
My spouse also took pictures of the medical waste as evidence.
No offer of any help to take the machine, waste or personal items out to the car just pointed to where the goods were by reception no nursing staff helped or came near my spouse.
