"Birth story"

I had an extremely positive experience at the maternity ward at Broome Hospital, and I truly can’t thank the team enough for their outstanding care. From the moment we arrived, we felt supported, well-informed, and completely at ease. The facilities were excellent, and clean, creating a calm and welcoming atmosphere that made the entire process more comfortable.

A special mention must go to the amazing midwives who supported me during labour – Bri and Sophie. They were not only exceptionally knowledgeable and professional but also incredibly warm and personable. Their calm presence, attention to detail, and encouragement throughout the entire birthing process made all the difference. They listened to my preferences and accommodated my needs as required. They genuinely made me feel like I was in the best hands, and I can’t thank them enough for their care. Also a huge shout out to Dr Liz and Dr Ruth for their care as I required a few trips to theatre; they were both thorough in explaining the procedures to me and provided relevant follow-ups until I had been discharged. 

After the birth, we had the legend Jane, who provided much-needed support to both me and my partner. She was thorough, kind, and attentive, ensuring that both of us felt well-looked-after during the recovery period. Her nurturing approach gave us the confidence we needed to navigate the early days with our newborn, she showed a no-nonsense but kind-hearted approach, which I genuinely enjoyed!! Jane, you are the real MVP!  

Overall, I felt that every aspect of my care at Broome Hospital was exceptional. The midwives and staff are top-notch, and their professionalism is matched only by their genuine kindness. If you’re expecting, based on my experience  I highly recommend this maternity ward for its excellent care, knowledgeable team, and comforting environment. Thank you again to Bri, Sophie, Jane, Verity, Dr Liz and Dr Ruth – you made such a positive impact during this special time in our lives!
