"Great care for my husband in ICU"

About: Sir Charles Gairdner Hospital / Coronary Care Unit (CCU) G42 Sir Charles Gairdner Hospital / High Dependency Unit Sir Charles Gairdner Hospital / Intensive Care Unit

(as a relative),

My husband was transferred from Joondalup to CCU to prepare for a heart bypass surgery the following day. The care given by Nick in CCU and then Izzy in ICU was just seamless and top notch! The care, attention, communication and positive can do attitude was reassuring and comforting to both my husband and myself. The care after in G62 High dependency has also been of the highest standard, a special thanks to Andrew.

When you find yourself in a critical situation with a family member at their most vulnerable, I believe it is the little things like taking time to talk with the patient and the family member, and explaining things in a calm reassuring manner that mean the most, as well as the skills shown! Thank you CCU, ICU and G62 HDU.

Dear redbc73,

Thank you so much for taking the time to get in touch and share your story about the high standard of care your husband received in CCU, ICU and Ward G62 HDU at Sir Charles Gairdner Hospital.

We are very privileged to have such highly skilled and dedicated staff working at SCGH and are very grateful that you have taken the time to acknowledge the staff members who made such a difference during your husband’s journey.

It will be my pleasure to share your thanks and appreciation with the relevant staff, including Nick, Izzy and Andrew, who I know will be touched and honoured to know they made such a difference to his experience.

I hope your husband is recovering well from his surgery.

Kind regards,

Jodi Graham
