I had a baby through the King Edward Family Birthing Centre. The team there made me feel confident to birth a baby naturally (I was considered low risk being accepted into the centre).
That was important for my mental health so I did not feel scared to birth a baby and I felt confident that my body could do it.
I was able to birth without an epidural so I was in the best position possible when baby was ready to come out (up right) which is what I wanted.
I had the same midwife with me throughout the process who made me feel cared for and supported.
Based on my experience, I think the FBC is a really good service that provides women care and support one on one, and it seemed to me that the midwives have a positive holistic approach which is good for mental health whilst pregnant- rather than a solely clinical approach.
